The world of the games
Who is the Starlight Princess?
The games never tell her story in words, and she has no name beyond her title. But across five games her look, her companion and her floating castle tell one. Here is the princess as the games draw her.
The look
She is drawn in a bright anime style: long, curling red hair, blue-green eyes, small white wings and a golden wand topped with a blue star. In the 2021 game she wears a white dress with a big blue bow and gold trim, white and striped stockings and gold shoes. She stands beside the reels, reacts to wins and swings the wand to fly the scatters into the free spins.
Her world is a castle that floats in the clouds, with tall white towers, a pale moon and a sky that turns purple and starry when the free spins begin. The symbols belong to it: a sun crest, a heart medallion, a crescent moon with candles, a star medallion and five cut gems.
One princess, five outfits
In Pachi (2024) she wears her original dress, beside a 3×3 grid in a castle hall with cherry blossoms.

The winged cat
Every game has a second character: a small white cat with blue patches, a red collar and a pair of feathered wings. In free spins it perches on the total multiplier counter. In Starlight Christmas it gets a Santa hat and becomes the scatter itself, and in Pachi it carries the multipliers of the Super mini game.
The duo of a magical girl and a talking animal companion is a classic of the anime genre, and the games lean into it: the cat winks, cheers and shows up on the win screens.
Her neighbours in Pragmatic's catalogue
Pragmatic Play has other anime-style princesses, most famously the Moonlight Princess, often described as Starlight's sister. And mechanically, the Starlight Princess's closest relative isn't a princess at all: it is Zeus. Her first game runs on the exact numbers of Gates of Olympus, as our comparison shows.
