The change that matters: one more heart, three times the ceiling
Everything you know from Starlight Princess still holds. Six reels of five, eight or more symbols anywhere to win, tumbles, the same paytable to the cent, 15 free spins for four scatters and a total multiplier that grows through the round. The free spins rules are written word for word as in the original.
The difference is at the very top of the multiplier list. The original's hearts go 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 8x, 10x, 12x, 15x, 20x, 25x, 50x, 100x, 250x and 500x. Starlight Princess 1000 keeps all of them and adds 1000x, drawn as a crowned star medallion so you notice it.
One extra value sounds small, but look at what it does to the ceiling. The original stops at 5,000x the bet and reaches it, by the rules screen's own figure, once in 697,350 spins. The 1000 version stops at 15,000x and reaches it once in 2,749,771 spins. The RTP is the same 96.50%, so the game has to pay for those rare giant rounds somewhere else: more of what it returns sits in a few very big results, and less in the everyday ones. That is what "high volatility" means here, and it is the label the game now shows on its intro screen.
In practice you should expect the 1000 version to feel like the original most of the time, with a longer tail. Our test fits that, with the usual warning about tiny samples: the base game behaved almost the same (29.4% of spins paid, against 30.1% in the original), while the median of our ten bought rounds came out lower, at 62.6x against 88.7x.

The natural free spins came once, on spin 863, and paid 15.3x. No 1000x medallion showed up anywhere in our test, and the biggest heart we saw was a single 50x. That is normal: the top values are extremely rare, which is exactly why the game can promise 15,000x.
