Starlight Princess multiplier simulator
The total multiplier is the heart of Starlight Princess free spins, and the most misunderstood part. Build a round by hand to see the rule at work, then deal thousands of rounds from the real free spins we recorded.
The rule in one paragraph
During free spins, every heart that lands on a winning spin adds its value to the total multiplier. A winning spin that brings a new heart is paid its win times the whole total. A winning spin without a new heart is paid its plain win. Hearts on losing spins are lost. The total never goes down until the round ends. This is how the rules screens of Starlight Princess, Christmas, 1000 and Super Scatter put it, and how the game servers paid every round we recorded.
Build a free spins round by hand
Each free spin either adds hearts or not. Add the hearts that land on a winning spin, type that spin's win before hearts, and watch the total multiplier do its work.
- 0xtotal multiplier
- 0xround win so far (x bet)
- 15free spins left
Deal random rounds from our recorded spins
We recorded every free spin of our bought rounds. This deals 15 of them at random, thousands of times, and adds them up with the game's rules. It shows the shape of the results, not the game's real maths: our sample is small.
- –median round (x bet)
- –rounds above the 100x price
- –best round
- –median total multiplier
Three things to try
- A big heart early, then nothing. Add a 50x heart on the first spin with a 1x win, then a few spins with no hearts. The 50x total pays once, and the plain wins after it stay plain.
- Small hearts that keep coming. Add a 2x or 3x heart on every other spin. The total creeps up, and each new heart multiplies its spin by everything before it.
- A late heart on a good spin. Build the total to 30x with small hearts, then add a 2x heart on a spin that won 5x. That spin alone pays 160x, which is roughly what happened in our best Starlight Princess round.
Reading the random rounds
The second tool shuffles the free spins we actually recorded in our bought rounds (150 to 160 per game, 75 for Super Free Spins) and deals 15 of them at a time, thousands of times. Played back in their real order, those same spins rebuild our real results exactly, so the dealer uses the game's rule correctly. What it can't do is know the game's true odds: it only knows our spins. A median from it tells you roughly how a typical bought round goes; the rare 5,000x rounds are simply not in a sample this size.

Questions about the total multiplier
Does the total multiplier apply to every win in free spins?
No. It applies only to winning spins that bring a new heart. A winning spin without a new heart pays its plain win, and the total waits for the next heart.
Do hearts count on losing spins?
No. A heart only adds to the total when its spin wins something. Hearts that land on a losing free spin are lost.
Does the total multiplier carry over after free spins?
No. It starts at zero in every free spins round and is gone when the round ends.
How do hearts work in the base game?
In the base game there is no total. The hearts on the screen at the end of a tumble chain are added together and multiply that chain's win once.
Is the random dealer the real game?
No. It re-deals the free spins we recorded in the official demo using the game's rule. It shows the shape of typical results, not the game's real odds.
