Our test21 October 2026Official demos
Starlight Lab
We played every Starlight Princess game in Pragmatic Play's official demo and kept every answer the game server sent back: 5,000 spins, 50 bought free spins rounds and 10 Super Free Spins buys. Here is what came out, how we did it, and what it can and cannot tell you.
The results at a glance
"Returned" is everything the spins or buys paid, divided by what they cost. Over millions of spins it would approach the RTP; over a thousand it swings wildly, as you can see.
| Game | Spins that paid | Natural bonuses | Best of 1,000 | 1,000 spins returned | Median buy | Best buy | 10 buys returned | Super buys returned |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Original | 30.1% | 2 | 108.6x | 66% | 88.7x | 563.3x | 146% | – |
| Christmas | 27.7% | 3 | 1,654x | 229% | 32.73x | 267.5x | 69% | – |
| 1000 | 29.4% | 1 | 92.4x | 70% | 62.55x | 169.2x | 73% | – |
| Pachi | 18.0% | 2 | 40x | 34% | 40.4x | 201.6x | 105% | 44% (5) |
| Super Scatter | 28.5% | 1 | 382.35x | 123% | 93.15x | 202.1x | 98% | 16% (5) |
Five things the numbers show
- Most spins lose. In the four 6×5 games, 28% to 30% of spins paid anything at all; in Pachi, 18%.
- One spin can make a session. A single Starlight Christmas spin, with a 500x heart and a 25x heart in one tumble chain, paid 1,653.75x and lifted 1,000 spins to 229% returned. Without it they would have returned 64%.
- Bought rounds vary enormously. Across the 50 regular buys, results ran from 6.7x to 563.3x for the same 100x (or 70x) price.
- Small hearts do most of the work. Of the hearts we saw land, most were worth 2x to 6x. Big totals came from many small hearts on winning spins, not from one giant.
- The rare top values stay rare. No 1000x medallion, no 250x heart, one 500x heart in 5,000 spins.
What this test is not
It is not a measurement of RTP. Pragmatic's RTP figures come from simulating millions or billions of rounds. Ours are a thousand spins per game and ten bonuses. A result of 66% or 229% here does not mean a game is "tight" or "loose"; it means the sample is small and the games are volatile.
What the test does show well is the shape of play: how often spins pay, how often hearts land, how far apart bonus results fall, and how the total multiplier really builds up. That is useful when you decide how much to bring to a session.

How we ran it
- We opened each game's official demo on demogamesfree.pragmaticplay.net, in US dollars with play money, the same demo this site embeds.
- We played at the minimum bet: $0.20 for the 6×5 games, $0.10 for Pachi. The demo starts every session with $100,000 of play money, so the balance never ran low.
- We sent the game server the same requests its own client sends when you press spin, a few per second, and saved every answer in full. The server decides each result; the animation in the browser only shows it.
- For each game we logged 1,000 plain spins (with any free spins they triggered), then 10 bought free spins rounds. For Super Scatter and Pachi we also bought 5 Super Free Spins rounds.
- A script reads the logs and counts the results: wins, tumbles, hearts (each heart counted once per spin, even when it slides down during tumbles), total multipliers and free spins. The same logs drive the bonus replays on the game pages.
We also played rounds by hand in the browser to take the screenshots on this site. Those rounds are mentioned on the game pages but are not part of these totals.

Questions about the test
Are demo results the same as real-money results?
The demo is Pragmatic Play's own game played with play money, and it shows the same rules and RTP figures as the version casinos offer at that setting. Casinos can choose lower RTP settings, though, so always check the rules screen of the game you play for money.
Why did some games return more than 100%?
Because 1,000 spins is a small sample for games that can pay thousands of times the bet. One big hit, like the 1,653.75x Christmas spin, can lift a whole session above 100%. Over millions of spins the return settles near the RTP.
Can I use your data?
Yes. The CSV is free to reuse; please link back to this page.
Did you change anything in the games?
No. We only sent the requests the game itself sends and recorded the answers. The game server decides every result.
